Fret Hand conditioning
There is a lot to learn when you're just getting started out with playing guitar. I found the biggest challenge with students is right hand to left hand synchronization, and hand strength. Here are tips to develop dexterity and strength.

If you are just starting out I recommend warming up before every practice session , and good way to this, is with an alternating picking exercise. Simply play the chromatic scale, meaning all the notes on the neck across all six strings. Start with a down stroke followed by an up stroke. Start with your Index finger, Finger 1 followed by fingers 2 3 4 from Low E string to high E string. When ascending lead with your index finger, when descending lead with your pinky. Then move to the 5th fret and repeat the cycle all the way to the 12th fret.

Once you get the hang of this, then start to do the exercise with a metronome start slow at first and make sure the notes you are playing sound good.
